Mission Strategies For Work And Play

Whether one is a star of the stage and screen or a star in one's chosen profession or even in one’s mind, the goal is, as truthfully as possible, to communicate some kind of useful idea or information. And good communication requires the art of performing--no matter what is being processed and sold.

It would be patently clich?and boring for me to quote Shakespeare and “the whole world is a stage?number. So I won’t. But, it is. I enjoy live theater but personally, there’s nothing like the big screen; dolby sound and the whole larger than life interaction with what we’re watching up there. With today's special effects, we at times have to suspend disbelief and remind ourselves that it’s just a movie.

Don’t we all just love to be entertained? I’m an actor, and I am just as in awe of those unique moments on the screen or on stage as anyone else. Teary, bulging eyes, got-to look-away eyes, heavy or shallow breathing, not breathing at all. Because, for a couple of hours, we become united in our sharing of the vast encyclopedia of human experience. The world is indeed a stage (wasn’t going to say it--oh well) and we are indeed its actors but more importantly, we are its revolutionary and evolutionary participants.

Imagination. We are only limited by our imaginations. You've all heard that many times before, but it's good to be reminded now and then by others and ourselves of our uniqueness and worthiness.

I may be learning the senior shuffle soon, but..........

I will never be adult.
I will always complain.
I will always have a point of view
I will love
I will cease to love
I will judge
I will forgive
I will be profane
I will be a bigot
I will screw up
I will fix up
I will be honest
I will be affected
I will feel ashamed

I will sometimes take things for granted
I will sometimes take people for granted
I will sometimes take myself for granted.
I will opine endlessly
I will be boring and pedantic
I will love my children
I will listen to them
I will support the things and people I believe in

I am just a person trying to make sense of our time here.
Do life to the full
Be afraid to the full
Be loving to the full
Just- bloody -well- be full!
